HAWAII (WIVB) - The strongest earthquake to hit Chile in 50 years has left at least 147 people dead and set off a tsunami that threatened the entire Pacific Rim.
An official at the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center says Hawaii, "dodged a bullet", after Saturday's major earthquake in Chile sent powerful waves rolling around the Pacific.
Jessica Danser joined News 4 on the phone from Hawaii.
She's a Buffalo resident, who is currently in Oahu for a wedding.
She spoke with News 4 about the situation in Hawaii.
