BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Today, some hungry Western New Yorkers got a taste-test of the upcoming festivities at Buffalo Wing Fest.
Last year the event attracted a record number 78,000 people.
And after receiving national attention throughout the year on both the Travel Channel and Food network organizers are predicting an even bigger and hungrier crowd this year.
Drew Cerza - the self proclaimed "Wing King" - says visitors will not only be dazzled by this year's wing selection - but also by the great architecture and history our city has to offer.
"It's not just about the chicken wing, it's about the great architecture we've got here, it's about the galleries like the Albright Knox like the Burchfield Penney and the great history we've got in Buffalo," said Cerza.
More than 30-tons of chicken wings are expected to be gobbled up this weekend - with more than 30 local and national restaurants showing what they can do with the popular finger food.
