BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - An accident nearly one week ago took her leg.
Wednesday night, a young mother continues to beat the odds on the road to recovery.
Sarah Gregory is making remarkable progress.
She has now been taken out of the trauma center at ECMC.
It was just last Thursday when the 30 year old lost her left leg
in Buffalo.
She was about to cross South Park Avenue on her way back to
work when she was hit by a car.
Sarah was then pinned up against a parked minivan.
She lost her leg at the scene.
Two men came to her rescue, using a belt as a tourniquet to
stop the bleeding.
Sarah asked Father Francis Mazur to thank everyone who's helped her recover.
"She's extremely thankful for Edward King who was on the scene, the good samaritan, the EMT's and also her coworkers who supported her immediately on the scene and also the Buffalo Mommy's. I didn't know there was a group called the Buffalo Mommy's. Apparently it's an organization, a national organization, there are about 300 in the Buffalo area," said Rev. Francis Mazur, Chaplain ECMC.
Reverend Mazur tells News 4 the only tears and turmoil coming
from Sarah are for her five-month-old daughter who she's anxious to
return home to.
Rev. Mazur says Sarah is maintaining an extremely positive
attitude in all of this.
