TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) - Several organizations are planting the seeds for success in the northtowns.

The Kenmore Garden Club, Town of Tonawanda, and Ken-Ton Meals on Wheels created a Community Garden along Sheridan Parkside Drive on Tuesday. The town's youth group will plant and raise vegetables that will feed Ken-Ton Meals on Wheels recipients.

Mary McNeill of Ken-Ton Meals on Wheels said, "We're gonna get it going, we're going to work on it every week during the summer, and then when it's harvest time, we're gonna sample some of the food, talk about recipes, nutrition, tie it in with some of the learning programs going on here in the Leaf Library."

The young people will be planting tomatoes, cucumbers, broccoli and peppers in the garden.
