JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WIVB) - In the southern tier, jury selection is expected to begin Tuesday in the trial of a Jamestown man accused of abducting and sexually assaulting a little girl.

Police say 22-year-old Eric Chant kidnapped the 12-year-old girl from her home as she slept last August, forced her into a stolen van, then took her to a secluded area, where he assaulted her.

If convicted, Chant faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life.
