Rt 20 re-opened after semi, car collide

HAMBURG, N.Y. (WIVB) - A serious accident closed a portion of Route 20 in Hamburg and Eden Tuesday afternoon.
NITTEC reports that Route 20 was closed in both directions for a 3.3 mile stretch between Sturgeon Point Road to Lakeview Road. The roadway was re-opened four hours later.
First responders on the scene say the crash involved a tractor trailer and a car. Mercy Flight took the driver of the car from the scene, and say the driver is in critical condition. The driver's name has not been released.
The crash happened around 1:20 p.m. Tuesday when authorities say the driver of the tractor trailer ran a red light and slammed into the car. There's no word on any charges against the truck driver.
