Albion library given heritage grant

Erie Canal Heritage group wants to boost tourism

ALBION, NY (WIVB) - Albion’s Hoag Library is one of several organizations receiving grants from the Erie Canal National Heritage Corridor to promote tourism.

Congresswoman Louise Slaughter is slated to hand out checks totaling more than $45,000,  along with awards, Wednesday afternoon during a ceremony at the Rochester Museum and Science Center.

Nine grants are being awarded to stimulate development of tourism and education along the canal.

Other recipients include the Village of Spencerport and the RMSC..
