ALDEN, NY (WIVB) - Voters in the Alden Central School District gave an overwhelming “no” to a plan to consolidate the elementary school into the middle high school campus.

The 18.3 million dollarcapital project included plans to upgrade the middle school and putting turf on the football field.

The school consolidation would have resulted in the elimination of seven staff positions.

The vote tally was 1,772 no, and 241 yes.
