Amerk accomplice jailed in drug case

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - A third person has been sent to prison in an upstate New York drug case that involved a professional hockey player.

The U.S. Attorney's office in Rochester says 41-year-old William Harrison was sentenced Thursday to 18 months in prison.

Prosecutors say that in 2004 and 2005, Harrison and a Rochester Americans player, Sean McMorrow, worked together in an operation that smuggled large quantities of marijuana across the border from Canada for distribution in the United States.

Harrison is accused of handling more than 80 pounds of marijuana and supervising two couriers who brought the drugs across the border.

McMorrow was sentenced in May to two years in prison.  A third man, Joseph Holman, received a 14-month sentence last month.
