BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A home on Fillmore Avenue is being described as a “complete mess” by animal control officers.

City of Buffalo Animal control says they are seizing several animals from 1555 Fillmore Avenue, Wednesday afternoon. Inside the home crews found five dogs, five chickens and 10 cats. Officials say 71-year-old James Hinman was living in squalor inside of the feces-coated home.

One of the five dogs was taken to the vet due to a collar embedded in its neck. The SPCA is going to remove the cats from the home, where officers say they're literally in the ceilings.

Hinman has been arrested and charged with aggravated cruelty to animals.
