BOULDER, C.O. (WIVB) - A billboard that's not even up yet is causing quite a stir in Colorado. An Atheist group is paying to put up the message "God is an imaginary friend" on billboards in Denver and Colorado Springs.

The Boulder Atheists and other atheist groups in Colorado say the message is meant to shock people and open up a discussion. The billboard goes on to say "CHOOSE REALITY, IT WILL BE BETTER FOR ALL OF US." Others say it sends the wrong message about tolerating the beliefs of others.

Marvin Straus of The Boulder Atheists said, "The message is we're Atheists and don't believe in God. If you agree with us, like to talk about it, or if you just have questions, give us a buzz."

Businessman Abraham Aryan counters, "Anything with a derogatory message I don't think should spread around. But they're welcome to do it. Welcome to America, that's one of the beautiful things about living here is you can do that."

The Atheists say their intention is not to offend people, just to get their attention.
