TORONTO, ONT. (WIVB) - Television game show host Bob Barker is picking up the tab to move three Toronto Zoo elephants to a sanctuary in California.
The Toronto Star reports that former host of "The Price is Right" said he wants to make sure the move goes smoothly and that it wouldn't cost the City of Toronto a penny.
The Toronto city council approved the move of Iringa, Toka And Thika last October. They will be moved to the Performing Animal Sancutary next spring.
The elephant move is controversial because some zoo staff members wanted the elephants to go to an accredited zoo.
The move is expected to cost around $200,000.
