BATAVIA, NY (WIVB) - It looks like it might be a last curtain call for a staple of the Batavia entertainment scene.
The Dipson Theatres are likely to close if a buyer cannot be found.
The movie theater debuted in Batavia more than 70 years ago, in 1939.
The Batavia Daily News reports that the theater has been quietly for sale for some time and that a recent tentative deal has fallen through.
The theater recently went through some renovations that replaced wall coverings, carpeting and improved seating.
The closest movie theaters for Batavia residents, should it close, would be The Stage in Warsaw and The Strand in Brockport.
