BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - The Buffalo Fire Department is unwrapping some early Christmas gifts. The department unveiled two new fire trucks Friday morning.

Buffalo Fire Commissioner Garnell Whitfield and Mayor Byron Brown led a special dedication ceremony.

Whitfield said, “We want to thank the firefighters who are here today who man these rigs. They are our greatest assets. No matter how much money we spend on equipment, none of that would matter without the men and women of this department.”

The new fire trucks are equipped with thermal imaging cameras. The trucks cost $700,000 from the city’s capital budget.
