TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) - The Western New York Community came together Saturday morning to break the cycle of domestic violence with a bike-a-thon and walk.
Hundreds of riders and walkers filled the Isle View Park in Tonawanda to attend the third annual Break the Cycle Bike-a-Thon and Walk. The event was held to raise awareness about the devastating problem of domestic violence.
One of the speakers, David Wisniewski who is the brother of murder victim, Jackie Wisniewski spoke on behalf of his sister and his family's traumatic experience with domestic violence.
The Break the Cycle Bike-a-Thon and Walk is presented by: The Erie County Commission on the Status of Women in cooperation with the Erie County Coalition Against Family Violence, the Family Justice Center of Erie County, Crisis Services, the YWCA of the Tonawandas, Child and Family Services, Haven House, and the Erie County Department of Social Services.
