BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Visitors to the Buffalo Zoo will have a new entrance. Groundbreaking for a new main entrance at the zoo took place Thursday morning.
The new entry plaza will be located directly off the zoo’s parking lot and feature a new gift shop. Zoo President Donna Fernandes says the change is partly for visitor safety, partly to make more room for a popular attraction, the new polar bear exhibit.
The cost of the new entry plaza is $3.8 million. It’s slated to open in Spring 2013.
