DEPEW, N.Y. (WIVB) - While most people are eating canned soup in their homes, avoiding leaving the house and going out in the cold, others are going to the Buffalo Soup-fest on Sunday.
It's western New York's newest sensation that was a hit in 2011 and 2012, when each year tipped the attendance scale of 9,000 people.
Hearthstone Manor in Depew is having its third annual Soup-fest where more than 30 vendors will show off their unique creations. This year's special ingredient challenge is none other than beer.
"We have everything you could possibly imagine," said the Founder and Chairman of the Soup-fest. There will be chili's, gumbos, and out of the ordinary kinds of soup including chicken wing soup and sheppard's pie to name a few.
Thirty different categories will be judged by western New York to crown the "Soup King" with their award winning recipe.
Admission is $5.00 and kids under the age of 7 are free. Each food ticket is $1.00 that may be purchased to sample soups.
The event goes until 7 p.m. tonight.
