BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A lot of planning and preparation went into the big game, for businesses in western New York. Many pizzeria and bar employees worked around the clock to get ready for the fans.

Sports fans in Buffalo could watch the Sabres game, as a “pre game” to the Ravens vs. 49ers game. The marathon sports day provided Buffalo fans with nearly seven straight hours of sports, giving them a reason to leave home and head to downtown bars and restaurants.

Pearl Street Manager Robert Buskirk said, “Typically people stay at home and do their house parties. But with 18,000 fans here I’m sure plenty are going to stick around and go to local bars for the Super Bowl as well.”

La Nova Pizzeria was busy keeping up with orders on Sunday. Owner Carla Todaro Pantano said, “We'll sell about 20,000 pounds of chicken wings, between both locations."

The pizzeria shipped frozen wings as far away as Las Vegas, Alaska and Aruba.

Meantime, Bills fans are still holding out hope for their team to win the big game. One fan said, “They are in the right direction, though. So, I'm sure they'll be there soon."
