The couple’s daughter, Kathy, says no one was seriously hurt and says it looks like the driver missed a bend in the road.
She said, “They obviously were quite startled. And fortunately, there wasn't a fire and the person in the vehicle wasn't severely injured so that's the main thing, but it's kind of upsetting, and it's done quite a bit of damage as you can see; it took out their whole laundry room, and did some other damage as well.”
Kathy says her parents were not hurt in the crash, and the driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries.
The Sheriff’s Office says investigation revealed that driver 25-year-old Daniel Harris was traveling north on Mechanic Street when he failed to negotiate a corner, went off the side of the road and struck the house.
The Sheriff’s Office says Harris had a .15% BAC level. Harris was arrested and charged with DWI and Failure to Keep Right.
