GETZVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) - The fight against cancer also got a boost Saturday at a classic car show in Getzville.
The annual Western New York "Cruise Against Cancer" benefits Roswell Park through the "Jacquie Hirsch for A-L-L research fund."
It began in 2007 when Hirsch was a patient at Roswell with A-L-L, a type of Leukemia.
She lost her battle the next year- but her family continued the event to fund the search for a cure.
Jacquie's brother and event chairman T.J. Hirsh said "Everybody that's here today is just out to support a really good cause. We've had the National Marrow Donor Program that's on hand testing people to be donors to patients and we've had a lot of donations come in from people who couldn't even make the cruise. And just in general, everybody's been great."
T.J. Hirsh added, "It's been very important to us, mostly the family and friends, as a way for us to continue the fight that Jacquie started."
