BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Catholic Charities is looking to raise about $11 million during its annual drive. So far, the organization is about $3 million short of that goal. That’s just under the amount of money raised at this time last year.
Funds benefit local programs and services supported by Catholic Charities.
Buffalo Bishop Most Rev. Richard Malone said, “Some people assume that means we serve Catholics only, we certainly serve Catholics, but we like to say, we don't serve others because they're Catholics, we serve others because we're Catholic and it's part of our obligation from Christ."
All this week there will be a big push for donations. Appeal week ends this Sunday.
