LOCKPORT, NY (WIVB) - There are plans in the works for a $104,000 visitor center for the Lockport Cave Tour and Boat attraction.
The Niagara-Gazette reports that the owner of The Hydraulic Race Company is asking the Niagara County Industrial Development Agency for tax relief for the project.
The company offers a 70-minute guided tour through the Erie Canal Locks.
The visitor center will include an overlook for the Erie Canal locks, a covered outdoor pavilion and a rear deck.
The application is subject to approval by the NCIDA's board. Thee is a public hearing scheduled for 3:45 p.m., March 5 at the Lockport municipal building.
