HAMBURG, N.Y. (WIVB) - A once popular restaurant and banquet hall in Hamburg is closings its door for good Saturday after serving up dinners and hosting parties for 33 years.
Romanello's South is closing as a result of rising costs and slumping profits that have made it impossible for the business to stay open.
Owner John Romanello said, "It just got to the point that I couldn't throw any more money at it, nor my brothers. We kept on throwing money at it, and it got to the point where we couldn't do it anymore."
For anyone with a gift certificate to the restaurant, Romanello's will honor it until closing tonight. From then on, the Old Orchard Inn will accept the gift certificates for a few more weeks.
