NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) - Today was the second distribution day for Coats for Kids at Capitol Cleaners and after their first one back in October, they got more than they could've imagined.
With a little help from News 4 and advertising the foundation, Capitol Cleaners ended up bringing in thousands of coats.
Sam Gasbarre of Niagara Falls says he and his wife have been blessed in life and they decided to buy new winter gear to help the people in need. He ended up giving a coat he bought to a young girl, London Jacob who is more than thrilled to wear it to school every day.
London's mom, Jennifer Jeffords told News 4's Bryan Shaw that it meant a lot to her to see how heartwarming and open the city of Niagara Falls was with all of the donations.
"It means a lot to me because it helps out me being a single mother and I don't have the income to be able to buy them new coats every year," said Jeffords.
For anyone still interested in the distribution, they can still get a coat by calling Capitol Cleaners and they will set up a visit time. The remains coats will go to united way, local schools, and St. Vincent De Paul for distribution.
