CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) - A Cheektowaga man is facing several charges, after a West Seneca police officer stopped the vehicle he was driving Saturday afternoon.

Police say 27-year-old Gregory Sansone was stopped for allegedly not wearing his seat belt Saturday. Sansone allegedly claimed to be his brother, when police asked him for identification. Police say a computer check showed his identity and revealed several suspensions on his driver’s license.

The officer then discovered a package of steak from Wegmans, that Sansone admits to taking from the store without paying for it. Police say a surveillance video confirmed Sansone’s story.

Police say Sansone was charged with petit larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, criminal impersonation, aggravated unlicensed operation, no seat belt and expired inspection.

Sansone posted bail and is expected back in West Seneca Town Court at a future date.
