BETHANY, N.Y. (WIVB) - Two people were hurt following a serious crash in Genesee County.
A pick up truck collided with a tractor-trailer along Route 63 in the Town of Bethany. Investigators say the driver of the pick up truck ran a stop sign.
Mercy Flight flew 70-year-old Gene Kelsey to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester with serious injuries. Rescuers had to free him and his passenger from the wreck.
Bethany Fire Chief Jeff Fluker said, "The door was jammed partially open. We were able to pull the door open and get him out without any hesitation. It's been a problem in the past with the curve like it is, an angle coming off the road."
The driver of the tractor trailer was not hurt. Police are investigating whether Kelsey was driving under the influence.
