NIAGARA FALLS, NY (WIVB) - A Niagara Falls man is facing several charges after a spectacular crash that launched a car over a 10 foot embankment.

New York State Police say 21 year old Tyler J. Rowland was speeding down 79th St when he failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Frontier Avenue. Rowland's vehicle then struck a curb, drove over a fence and struck a support pole. The impact sent the Chevrolet Aveo up a ten foot embankment, launching the car over a guardrail and into the middle of the Lasalle Expressway, blocking all lanes of traffic.

Rowland refused medical treatment at the scene and was taken to the State Police barracks in the Town of Niagara where he was charged with aggravated DWI, failure to wear a seatbelt, unsafe speed and failure to stop at a stop sign.
