NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) - A driver is in stable condition after a rollover crash that ejected the driver from his vehicle, sending him 36 feet from the car. State Police say Brian M. Smead, who had a Massachusetts registration, was traveling on the Robert Moses Parkway around 1:20 a.m.

Police say Smead’s vehicle left the roadway and struck a guardrail, before striking a curb and snow bank causing the vehicle to become airborne and rollover. The vehicle struck curbing and landed in a snow-covered area.

During the crash Smead, who police say was not wearing his seatbelt, was ejected from the car and landed 36 feet from the vehicle. He was taken by ambulance to ECMC. He is listed in stable condition, with a broken hip, abrasions, and numerous lacerations.

Police say charges are pending.
