LACKAWANNA, N.Y. (WIVB) - A fire erupted just before 11 p.m. Thursday at a vacant building on Ridge Road in Lackawanna.

Lackawanna firefighters had to call in three alarms to deal with the heavy flames.  They say they thought they had the fire under control but it spread to the attic.  The conditions of the building hampered efforts to attack the flames from inside.

The building and the building next door were already scheduled for demolition.

No injuries were reported.  Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
