Cuomo to talk about budget in Buffalo

BUFFALO, NY.. (WIVB) - Thursday, Governor Andrew Cuomo will be in Buffalo to talk about the budget. It’s due April 1st and he’s proposed no new taxes. It’s possible that the conversation on the budget may turn to the new gun laws, while the governor is at City Honors School.

Last January, when Cuomo promised a billion dollars to Buffalo, Cuomo said, “I want to talk about what we're gonna be and what were gonna do, and where the new jobs are coming from, and how to keep my children here and my family here, so I can say your future's in Buffalo. Don't you dare think of going anywhere else.”

The governor is expected to discuss the state of the state and the state budget. One of the hottest topics in the state is the governor’s gun control legislation, the SAFE Act. There is no word if the governor plans to discuss that Thursday, or if opponents to the law will be on hand to protest it.

Just this week the Niagara County Legislature voted unanimously to push state legislators to repeal the SAFE Act.
