KIANTONE, N.Y. (WIVB) - An early-morning fire in Kiantone claimed the life of a dog Monday. The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office says a female resident was asleep inside the home when she woken up by working smoke detectors, and she exited the home without injury.
The house fire on Warren Jamestown Boulevard sparked in the basement of the home, because of a problem with a power strip. No one was injured, however one dog died in the blaze.
The sheriff’s department is reminding residents, with this past weekend being daylight savings time, to change the batteries in your smoke detectors.
