COVINGTON, N.Y. (WIVB) - Two men are facing charges after Wyoming County Sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle at a traffic stop in the Town of Covington.
Deputies say they stopped a vehicle that was driven by 41-year-old Robert Ziegler, of Warsaw, and his license was found to be expired, with three active suspensions. Ziegler and his passenger 42-year-old Charles Martin III of Warsaw, were allegedly consuming alcohol inside the vehicle.
Ziegler was taken into custody for driving with a suspended license and during the vehicle search, deputies say they found two crack pipes, a marijuana pipe and a plastic baggy containing marijuana. Martin was then taken into custody as well, and both men were taking to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office.
Martin was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and consumption of alcohol inside a motor vehicle. Ziegler was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, unlicensed operator, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle and speed over 55 mph.
Ziegler and Martin will both answer the charges in late September.
