PERRY, N.Y. (WIVB) - The Wyoming County Sheriff’ Office says a man has turned himself into authorities, after allegedly crashing a vehicle and then leaving the scene.

The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office says 34-year-old Lester D. Byron lost control of 28-year-old Jerimie Johnson’s vehicle on Silverlake Road in Perry, December 5th.  Johnson was left semi conscious inside the vehicle, and Byron allegedly left the scene.

Wyoming County Sheriff’s Deputies obtained an arrest warrant for Byron, who turned himself in six days later, Friday. Byron is charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident, speed not reasonable and prudent, misdemeanor second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and misdemeanor operating without an ignition interlock device.

Byron was taken to Wyoming County Jail, where he was committed on $1,000 bail.
