ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) - On Sunday, teenagers attended the Ron Smith Memorial AutoTech Competition hosted by Erie Community College.

The event was held on the South Campus where high school juniors and seniors took written tests and worked on trucks to figure out what was wrong with them.

Organizers said, right now there's a need for people with these skills.

Tom Herrmann, NFADA Vice President of Education and Compliance said, "We try to make this competition as real as we can, as far as what an actual service technician would find in one of our local dealers."

Sunday's winner will be sent to New York City for a National Competition.
