MISSISSAUGA, ONT. (WIVB) - An investigation has been launched to find out how an elderly woman became stuck in an elevator for more than 24 hours during Christmas.
It happened at a Mississauga nursing home, Malton Village Long Term Care Facility.
The victim, 87-year old Rosalie Rowsell was unable to reach anyone for help in a malfunctioning elevator. The incident occurred after the woman returned from a holiday dinner with her family.
The Toronto Star reports that the nursing home staff thought the woman was still with her family and didn’t realize she had returned.
