MELBOURNE, FL. (WIVB) - Elite Airlines, based in Melbourne, Florida, announced today it is planning to start service to the Sunshine State flights from underserved airports in New York State, including the one in Niagara Falls. The carrier is courting passengers from Canada who flock across the border for cheaper fares.
Melbourne is considered an alternative airport to families traveling to Florida to visit the theme parks and the Kennedy Space Center
"The airport at Niagara Falls is a quick drive from Buffalo and Toronto, Canada", explains John Pearsall, Elite Airlines President. " Canadians driving and taking-off from New York State avoid long lines at airport customs and immigration check points and they save hundreds of dollars on domestic airfares opposed to heavily taxed international airfares.
Elite has just received air carrier certification from the Federal Aviation Administration
