HAMBURG, N.Y. (WIVB) - Only in Western New York would temperatures reading in the 60’s follow temperatures reading in the single digits just days before.
With spring-like weather in the middle of winter, conditions such as flooding are expected.
You can find the latest weather conditions here
Earlier on Wednesday, a major ice jam in Cazenovia Creek was broken up within hours as a result of the warm temperatures. Around 5 a.m. the creek was frozen, and 20 minutes later, the water started flowing.
There is no longer a need to worry about flooding as the water levels have been dropping since this morning.
Many people decided to take advantage of the warm weather before it goes back to the winter weather Western New York is used to.
Joleen Haniszewski of Kenmore said, “I think it’s absolutely beautiful today even with the rain, it’s awesome to be outside.”
Mother Nature can’t seem to make up her mind, and by the end of Wednesday night, the weather will be back to what we are used to. Be sure to check out our weather page for your latest and most up-to-date weather forecast.
