BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Roswell Park Cancer Institute is ushering in a “new era.” Thursday morning, the hospital announced a $1.5 million gift to the cancer hospital from New Era.

The donation means construction can start on a major addition, an 11-story clinical sciences center at Michigan and Carlton Streets.

The new facility will feature a breast care center, an expanded chemotherapy infusion clinic and a clinic for adolescents and young adults.

Roswell Park President and CEO Dr. Donald Trump said, “So we can treat patients in a more supportive and comfortable facility as we need to treat more and more patients as the demand for our services continues to increase.”

$40 million has been raised for the new building. Construction is expected to start in the spring.
