BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Shots rang out in front of a Buffalo sports bar overnight, leaving a man dead. Now, investigators are trying to figure out what happened.
Family members identify the victim as 20-year-old Anthony Pitts. Police say Pitts was shot as he exited Pandora's Sports Bar when he was shot in the upper body. He later died from his injuries. Authorities say a fight started inside the bar and spilled out onto the street just before the shooting.
The call came out around 2:30 a.m. for shots fired in the area of Fillmore and Victoria Avenues. Police found Pitts fatally wounded near the intersection. A 21-year-old man had apparently gone to ECMC with a gunshot wound to the left hand. He was treated and released.
Investigators say the second victim did not appear to be the intended target. Police are continuing to investigate and are looking for anyone who may have witnessed the shooting. Anyone with information can call the confidential tipline at 847-2255.
