Father of wrongfully convicted man dies

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A Buffalo father who would eventually find justice for his wrongfully convicted son has died.

Albert Capozzi was the father of Anthony Capozzi, who spent 22 years in prison for rape. Anthony was set free after DNA evidence linked those rape cases to bike path killer, Altemio Sanchez.

The Capozzi family later reached a $4.25 million settlement with New York State for the years Anthony spent behind bars.

Anthony's mother, Mary, Died in 2009.
