Fifth anniversary of Everett injury

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) - The Bills hit the field against the Jets Sunday, for their first official game of the season.

This weekend also marks the fifth anniversary of Kevin Everett’s career-ending injury. During the home opener in 2007, Everett was motionless on the field after suffering a cervical spine fracture.

He made a remarkable recovery after that fateful day. Doctors say an emergency spinal cord cooling treatment likely saved him from being paralyzed.
