AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) - Thirteen residents had to be evacuated from a Senior Care Community Friday night because of an electrical fire.
The Main-Transit Fire Department responded to the Oxford House at the Tennyson Court Senior Care Community just after 9:30 p.m.
Firefighters found a fire in a bathroom ceiling fan that extended into the ceiling throughout part of the building and into the attic. The fire was quickly extinguished; 13 residents were evacuated from that portion of the building.
Damage is estimated at $65,000. No injuries were reported.
