Fire call reveals marijuana plants

Police say they found pot growing equipment

WARSAW, NY (WIVB) - A call to respond to a house fire revealed a pot growing operation.

Warsaw police say they spotted about 100 marijuana plants when they were called to a fire at an apartment building at 168 Brooklyn Street.

Firefighters discovered growing lights and other equipment in addition to the pot plants valued at more than $50,000.

A man in his 40’s was arrested, but his identity has not been revealed.

Damage was estimated at $30,000.
