BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Fire crews responded to Virginia Place in downtown Buffalo Friday afternoon. A blaze occurred in the back of a building on Virginia Place. The building spans the block and has a Franklin Street address.
The fire, that extended to the building's second floor, resulted in $100,000 damage. Officials say a welder's torch is to blame for the blaze.
There were two alarms called to fight the flames as a precaution, because the garage is surrounded by buildings in tight quarters on the narrow street which is home to popular restaurants and other residential buildings.
