BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - It was the first snowfall of the season and many were seeing more white than green as many parts of Western New York woke up to a white Saturday morning.

Early Saturday in Ellicottville, Holiday Valley began making snow for the hills to prepare them for opening day. The temperatures were right where they needed to be for the machines to go full blast and get ready for ski season.
Even though real snow was falling, the snow making machines were kept running Saturday evening and will be running for the next few nights as well.
