Flames and smoke engulf home

PENDLETON, N.Y. (WIVB) - Everyone inside a Pendleton home escaped smoke and flames Thursday night, according to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office.

Niagara County Dispatch was called to a house on Mapleton Road around 6:30 p.m. Thursday. When fire crews arrived a single story home was fully engulfed in smoke and flames. Three fire companies assisted in extinguishing the fire.

Red Cross was called to assist the family. There is no word on the cause of the fire.
