Flash mob pays for shoppers' groceries

LAKEWOOD, N.Y. (WIVB) - Workers from Tanglewood Manor in Jamestown surprised grocery shoppers at the Wegmans in Lakewood with a giving gift.

They organized a flash mob and handed out gift cards, paid for their groceries, and picked up lunch for the surprised shoppers in the store.

How it began: Every casual Friday, in order to wear jeans, workers at Tanglewood Manor in Jamestown each pitch in a dollar.

Once the right opportunity comes about, they give the money back to their community.

Tanglewood Chief Operating Officer Terri Ingersoll came up with the idea to take the money to Wegmans as a good deed flash mob and help others pay for their groceries.

Ingersoll says, "This was a very big deal. The staff absolutely loved it and they're already begging me to be able to do it again before the year is over. Everybody's just been really excited about it; there are some good hearted people here."

Receptionist Becky Decker told News 4, "This lady was in a motorized scooter, and we tried to talk to her but she just kept going. We finally got her to stop and she was so thankful that had a gift card for her."

This great contribution to Wegmans shoppers could not be done without the help of Tanglewood Manor and its workers giving spirits.
