BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - It goes without saying, Buffalo loves hockey even with the Sabres off the ice.
The Rochester Americans vs the Lake Erie Monsters game tonight at the First Niagara Center is sold out, all 18,690 seats in the arena.
This is the second hockey game that's been played in Downtown Buffalo since the NHL lockout began, and clearly, Buffalo is missing its hockey.
This game doesn't just mean good news for those attending, but it is also good news for the local pubs and restaurants downtown.
More positive economic news for Downtown Buffalo, is the brand new comedy club, Helium, opening up tonight on Mississippi Street.
Whether we have hockey or not, Buffalo finds a way to keep itself entertained.
