FORT ERIE, ONT. (WIVB) - The plans for the Canadian Motor Speedway in Fort Erie are facing a speed bump.
An environmental group, calling itself PALS, the Preservation of Agricultural Lands Society, has appealed the municipal board’s decision that ruled in favor of the project according to the Fort Erie Review.
The $400 million project is planned to cover 823 acres of land.
Among the concerns listed in the suit are that the plan does not have enough protection for Bobolink, an endangered species. There is also concern about the headwaters spring for Miller’s Creek and forested land on the site.
