NIAGARA FALLS, NY (WIVB) - The creative and sometimes collectable Google Doodle today celebrates a local Niagara Falls attraction - the 160th birthday of the designer of the iconic Spanish Aero Car.
The Google home page features the image of Leonardo Torres-Quevedo standing on the cable car along with several chess pieces.
The Spanish engineer is also lauded for creating the first computer game, a machine that could play a game of chess against a human opponent. Who knew?
The aero car has been in operation since 1916.
